
The Balázs Bágyi Quartet was formed from jazz and folk musicians in Hungary. They play Central - Eastern - European ethno and worldmusic based on the Hungarian folk tradition, containing the elements of jazz and improvised music as well. Their original compositions, arrangements and the pure acoustic sound of the band represents this style. Their recent record "Hungarian Music" features Beáta Salamon on violin.
Beáta
SalamonViolin player, music teacher, founder of the Méta band. Beside her folk music works, she is a member of some other bands playing different styles.(Magony strings, Improvokation - British - Hungarian jazz group, Kormorán Memory Band...).
Csaba
TűzkőSaxophone player, composer, arranger. He plays different styles of jazz and folk music too. Beside the Balázs Bágyi Quartet he leads his own band and he is a member of Fanfara Complexa playing wind instrument music from Moldva.
Dániel
P. SzabóCimbalom player, folk singer, the Young Master of Folk Arts. He plays with many folk groups, studied his instrument with Kálmán Balogh. Beside the Balázs Bágyi Quartet he also a member of Folkestra and Gázsa groups.
Péter
OláhBass player. For his outstanding musical and technical abilities, he is one of the finest bassists not just in Hungary. Beside the Balázs Bágyi Quartet he is a member of numerous bands and founding member of the Trio Acoustic.

BágyiJazz drummer, composer and teacher. His multiform musical works include many styles from musical to free jazz. His band, the Balázs Bágyi Quartet plays Central - Eastern - European ethno and world music. Their original compositions and arrangements are based on the Hungarian folk tradition, containing the elements of jazz and improvised music.
